Who we are

Saint John Mission 024

St. John of Dividing Ridge is a mission family of several families in Grant County in the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky.  We are a welcoming community made up of diverse families ranging from new families with very young children, to families with teenagers and adult children, and many elderly couples.  We invite all to come and worship with us.

Anyone wishing to help and/or work with the children, must be Virtus trained.  This is a training session that last a couple of hours and then just a quick article once a month to read,  just to keep you up to date.

Why choose us

We offer an opportunity for you and your family to grow in the Catholic faith, coming to know our Lord Jesus in an intimate way through the sacraments.  If you are not Catholic and have an interest in learning more about our faith, we offer the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) as a way to learn about our faith so that you might make an informed and heartfelt decision about joining our community.

Our experience

Father Damian Hils is our pastor and has been a priest for 20 years.  He has served in rural parishes before in North Dakota and has served at a variety of parish within our diocese over the past 10 years.  He has been at St, William since July of 2014.  He combines a deep reverence and knowledge of the faith with  a compassionate and kind heart.

Deacon Mike Lyman has been our deacon since his ordination in 2007.  He has been a member of our parish since moving to Williamstown with his wife Joyce in 1995.  He has been our Youth Minister, a CCD teacher, and Director of Religious Education in the past.  He is chair of our Finance Committee, chair of our annual fish fry’s and Spiritual Director for our Saint Vincent dePaul Society.
